Walking Tracks

We are right on the Rob Roy Walking trail and there are numerous self-guided walks in the area with easy walks adjacent to the park and more challanging close by. For safety we advise all walkers and hikers to let us know where you intend to walk and when you intend to return.

In Balquhidder Glen we have Creag an Tuirc: an easy 1-2 hour walk with spectacular views despite it's short distance. This walk starts behind Balquhidder church and initially follows the track signed to Kirkton Glen over a stile to and through the woods to where the track forks near some enclosed buildings. Taking the right fork after about 400M a sign on the right points to a narrow path leading through a dike and onwards to the summit where you'll find a cairn to the memory of the clan McLaren. A stunning view with the whole of Balquhidder Glen exposed beyond Loch Voil and little Loch Doine awaits. Rob Roy's first married home ( Monachyle Taurach ) is on the south shore at the narrows between the two lochs.

More walks of varying difficulty can be found on the National Park website's walking section.
