News and Offers - The Rut

02 October 2009

The stags are now grunting, the owls are hooting and the red squirrels are foroging for the nuts to last them through the winter. October is definately a great time of year to visiit the area.

Step out onto your balcony of the log cabins in the evenings and you are likely to the grunt of the stag calling out during this rutting season. Later on you are guarenteed hearing the owls hooting away to each other in the local trees, and during the day you may well see the red squirrels darting around gathering the hazelnuts and peanuts to store away in their drays for the winter.

In the next couple of weeks the leaves on the trees will start to change colour to add to the already spectacular scenery. The autumn light and colours really transform the area and amazing photographs can be created by the most amateur of photogrphers. As the tourist season finishes the area calms down and is a haven for walkers. Whether you want to climb a munro or just do some of the many pleasant hill walks in the area we can offer you a warm and cosy retreat to come back to.

Starting in October we can now offer guides to lead you through the glens and fill you in with local history and facts about the area. A guide will cost £120 for the day taking up to 8 people making it only £15 per person - great value for money for a whole days entertainment!
