Environmental Policy
The emphasis of the Park is very much on environmentally friendly practise – we want future generations to be able to enjoy the fantastic environment that we have. From eco-friendly cleaning products, recycling, tree and hedgerow planting, to local produce sold in our shop, we do our best to make sure we and our guests live in harmony with the natural surroundings.
We currently hold the top Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme -Gold. We worked very hard to come up to their strict standards and we are inspected every year to ensure we are still up to scratch. (www.green-business.co.uk).
We liase closely with the National Park Rangers to moniter our resident red squirrels (which are successfully breeding on site), and also the pine martin and owls. We have also successfully regenerated our oak knoll, a butterfly meadow and are protecting 3 different sites containing wild orchids. The local Nursery School children visit regularly to continue their Woodland Project in amongst the Oak Trees.
Last year we also Carbon Offset the travel of all our British Self Catering customers by working our their mileage travelling here, and trees will be planted to offset environmental impact.
